I heart sweater weather too!

Another new toy!

So after lots and lots of recommendations I went out and bought a new toy for Olivia. And of course she loved it. She is still trying to make out what to think of it but she thought it was pretty cool that she could turn herself around and bounce all at the same time. She hasn't got her feet off the ground yet but I am sure it is only a matter of time before she gets some air!

So we went to the park today because we thought Olivia would enjoy some time outside. Well she was a bit of a crab... squirming and squawking as we walked around. So we decided to lay her in the grass and see what would happen. Well... our little daughter decided to smile from ear to ear. Apparently little miss independent wanted some freedom.

Adventure Day!

So I woke up this morning and decided I wanted to take my daughter on an adventure. It was a beautiful sunny day and I just had to spend the day outside. So we (Me, Livy and our friend Erica), packed up the car and set out to find a new park. Well... we got a bit lost (about 40 minutes out of our way) but once we found our destination it was well worth it. Olivia had not taken a nap the whole morning so the long car ride was actually perfect for her to catch up on her z's before our adventure began. It was such a great day! I put Olivia in the baby bjorn and we went on a hike. I introduced Livy to daffodils which were great fun to grab at. Then it was off to the swings! We can hardly wait for our next adventure!

Cereal... to like or to spit?

So we thought we'd give Olivia a taste or two of cereal tonight to see what she thought. I was convinced she would spit it right back at me but it didn't go as bad as I thought. At first she just gave some real funny looks, then she would smile at us and by the end she had grabbed the spoon out of my hand and decided she was going to feed herself. I am not sure exactly how much she actually swallowed but at least it didn't end up all over the walls. While I don't think it was love at first taste we are off to a good start!

Big Girl!

We had Olivia's four month check up today and my goodness is she getting big! She weighed in a whopping 15 pounds 2 ounces and is meaasuring 26 inches long!

Four Months!

Our baby is FOUR months old! Where has the time gone? Olivia is growing so fast it is sometimes hard to remember what a peanut she once was. She is getting stronger and stronger everyday and loves "standing" on our lap as we hold her up. She is also so close to rolling over- if should could just figure how to get that arm out from under her! Toys are becoming more and more interesting to her and she voices her "boredom" quiet often if we are doing one thing for too long. Bath time is becoming a much more fun experience and she has figured out how make her exosaucer make noise- which makes her laugh. She loves reading books with mommy and lounging with daddy. She is a very busy little girl so cuddles are few and far between right now... so we take full advantage when she is in the mood to snuggle in. We have got to spend a little time outside with spring on its way and she loves the sunshine. It is going to be a very fun spring and summer with her. She seems to have a developed a bit of stranger anxiety but will over come it if she has time to adjust to new people. She is loving school although we have discovered she is quite spoiled. The other day her favorite teacher was holding another baby and Olivia sent her glares across the classroom and then proceeded to growl until she was picked up. I think we are in trouble...

Strawberry Shortcake!

When I was a little girl I told everybody that when I grew up I wanted to be Strawberry Shortcake. She was my favoirite character but of course I insited she was a real person. So when I saw this little outfit at the store... well lets just say I could not pass it up. A professional photo session was a must! Warning... these are super cute and you may not be able to look away.

Retro Baby!

Tonight we had a little fashion show with Olivia! Grandma came for a visit and brought with her some clothes that I wore when I was a baby. So we decided to dress Olivia up in the polyester.

This one was a little snug so we had to teach her how to "suck it in."

I got the very rare chance to scrapbook a little tonight so daddy and Olivia spent some quality tiime together loungin' on the couch! It was so cute I had to snap a picture that will one day be scrapbooked!

Practice makes perfect!

With the countdown to Olivia's first taste of cereal in full swing we have been practicing sitting in the Bumbo lots and lots. She has always liked her Bumbo but this week I added the tray into the mix and she was not impressed. Then after some practice and lots of reassuring and mommy acting like an idiot to calm her down... she now likes the Bumbo again!

A Day at the Park!

It was such a beautiful day that we decided to take Olivia to the park to have her first swing experience. She loved it. She went in a baby swing by herself and smiled as she swayed back and forth. It's so hard to believe that she is big enough to do this!

It was one year ago today...

... that I (mommy) peed on a stick (sorry if that is too much information but it's the truth) and we found out we were going to be a family of three. We are so blessed to have this little angel in our lives. We love you, punky girl!

Pretty in Pink

We (and by "we" I mean "me") had another "dress up Livy after her bath" night. Grandma bought Olivia a very pretty pink, frilly dress when I was still pregnant and she has never had an elegant event to wear it to. So... I of course had to try it on her and see what it looked like before she out grew it. She was very funny while wearing the dress and thought it was great fun to pull the dress up over her head!
